The Developmental Disabilities Institute's Author Series features talks and book signings from some of the most well-respected authors in the disability field today. This series gives authors the opportunity to share their life experiences, stories and insights with members of the disability, social service and academic communities of Metro Detroit. Past speakers have included Rachel Simon and Terry Trueman.

Next DDI Author Series Event: Ms. Jennifer Greening Talk and Book Signing
The Developmental Disabilities Institute will be hosting an evening with educator and author Jennifer Greening on December 3, 2009 on the campus of Wayne State University. Ms. Greening is a parent of a child with disabilities and an educator who
advocates for inclusive educational opportunities for students with disabilities. She has documented her journey in her book entitled Opening Doors,
Opening Lives: Creating Awareness of Advocacy, Inclusion, and Education for Our Children with Special Needs.
DDI will host a talk, reception and book signing from 7:00 - 8:30 pm on December 3 at the Purdy/Kresge Library, 5244 Cass Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, on the campus of Wayne State University. This is a free event and open to the public.
