MPAS- Protection & Advocacy for Voter Access (PAVA) Materials

Michigan Protection & Advocacy Service, Inc. (MPAS) is the designated agency to ensure an inclusive and equal voting standard for everyone. P&As seek to secure election access for a wide range of individuals with disabilities – including, but not limited to, individuals with mental, sensory, and physical disabilities – pursuant to Congress’ broad mandate to “ensure the full participation in the electoral process for individuals with disabilities, including registering to vote, casting a vote and accessing polling places”.

  • Created in 2002 when Congress enacted the Help America Vote Act (HAVA)

  • Administered by the Administration on Developmental Disabilities of the Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
