A Focus on Aging in Communities of Color

Welcome to the training page for MI-DDI's Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). This learning module equips healthcare professionals with essential knowledge and skills needed to provide effective healthcare for aging patients with disabilities from communities of color. Participants will learn about the unique challenges faced by this group and strategies they can use to improve patient outcomes. Designed for medical and allied healthcare professionals, this module offers practical insights and evidence-based approaches to enhance the quality of care provided to persons with these overlapping identities.
Training Certificate and Continuing Education Credits
Below you will find three (3) options for completing this training. Which one you choose will depend upon if you are seeking continuing professional education credits or not. This training is approved for the following credits:
- 1.25 Continuing Medical Education credits (1.25 AMA PRA Category I Credits)
- 1.0 Social Work Credit (Pending approval)

Option 1: Certificate of Completion
- This option will allow you to download a certificate of completion. There are no continuing education credits associated with this option.
- Access this training option by clicking the link on the next line. You may also copy and paste the link into your browser.
Option 2: Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credits
- This option is hosted by the Wayne State University (WSU) School of Medicine. If you do not have an existing WSU CME account, please complete the following before attempting the training:
- First, navigate to the CME website: https://cmetracker.net/WAYNE/Publisher?page=pubOpen#/myPortal
- Second, click on "Sign in", enter just your email, then click "Create Account"
- After you create your account, go to the Understanding Healthcare Disparities of People with Disabilities: A Focus on
Aging in Communities of Color training by clicking the following link on the next line: - Complete the training and finish the post-test with at least 80% accuracy.
- When you have satisfied the criteria, you will be able to print a certificate from the CME website, verifying you have completed the training to earn 1.25 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.
Option 3: Social Work Continuing Education Credits
