Rachel is Disability Rights Michigan's (DRM) Voter Engagement Specialist, working to ensure that Michigan voters with disabilities are informed, empowered, and able to exercise their voting rights. Rachel is a Central Michigan University graduate and current student in Michigan State University's Master of Social Work (MSW) program. Prior to Voter Engagement, Rachel was an advocate on DRM's community and institutional rights team, investigating abuse and neglect, monitoring facilities, and providing direct advocacy to Michiganders with disabilities. Rachel's past experience includes work in juvenile justice diversion, mental health peer-support, batterer intervention, healthy relationships and sex education for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and LGBT youth services. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys listening to records with her husband and going on walks with her corgi puppy.
