In May, the Michigan Developmental Disabilities Institute (MI-DDI) at Wayne State University was honored to host Andy Imparato, Executive Director of the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD). During his visit, Mr. Imparato met with MI­DDI staff members to learn more about the work being done by MI-DDI to serve and empower Michigan individuals with disabilities. Earlier in the day, Andy attended a MI-DDI Community Advisory Council (CAC) meeting where he spoke with CAC members about current initiatives and future issues targeted by AUCD at the national level. Mr. Imparato concluded his visit at the final face-to-face meeting of the Michigan Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (MI-LEND). He shared his expertise on national disability policy with MI-LEND trainees, mentors and staff.
