Speaker: Christie Petrenko, PhD
Research Psychologist
Mt. Hope Family Center, University of Rochester
Dr. Petrenko will introduce fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) and define "FASD-informed care" based on current conceptualizations integrating research and clinical wisdom. Most people affected by this condition do not, unfortunately, receive FASD-informed care. Dr. Petrenko will review the research on barriers that interfere with access to care and discuss current research to overcome these barriers. She will also share practical resources available to providers and parents to increase provision of FASD-informed care.

Identify family-level and systems-level barriers that contribute to children and families not receiving FASD-informed care.
