Episode 4: Michigan Vaccination Partners (MVP)

Michigan Vaccination Partners, or MVP, aim to ensure greater equity and access to vaccination for people disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. The Autism Alliance of Michigan (AAoM), Brain Injury Association of Michigan (BIAMI), Disability Rights Michigan (DRM), and Michigan Developmental Disabilities Institute (MI-DDI) are the organizations involved in MVP. In this episode, you will learn more about MVP vision and goals, as well as what each organization brings to the table to improve access to vaccinations and other health care services.

Dr. Milberger is Principal Investigator on MI-DDI's COVID-19 vaccine grant from MDHHS. She has a deep commitment to promoting community inclusion and quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families. She has over three decades of research and program experience in I/DD, health promotion and disease prevention.

 

 

Kristen Milefchek, MSW

Vaccine Advocate, Disability Rights Michigan

Kristen Milefchik, MSW has a Master's degree in social work and is a Vaccine Advocate for Disability Rights Michigan. She has a disability and is a lifelong wheelchair user. Kristen is a member of Self-Advocates of Michigan (SAM) and serves on the board of directors of MI-UCP and Transportation Riders United (TRU). Kristen advocates at the community level by applying her educational, personal, and professional experience to bring greater awareness of disability access and inclusion issues.
